Mi desafio anterior.
The resistance
I really enjoy this book. I can't believe I didn't like it the first time I started it. It's amazing! But again, I'm looking for the things I didn't like. The love triangle! I don't know why I hated it. I loved Kirtash, but not Jack, and that's makes me wanna scream! And the worst part: I can bear "the insesto", but I can not bear the love relationship in 12 years old children!!! I start to love this book in the second part: 2 years later, when the characters were finally 15. I'm crazy I know!
Hourglass, Myra McEntire
This book is one of April's recommendations, so I know it's really good. I wanted to read it a long time ago, so I decided to start the new year with it.
Quiero leer este libro porque se que es muy bueno, comenzar el 2012 con el pie derecho!
Summary.
One hour to rewrite the past . . .
For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there; swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents’ death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.
So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.
Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?
Happy new year! I hope all your projects come true, and this 2012 is full of many more good books!
God bless you!!!
Hey Lis!
ResponderEliminarNo reason to be crazy. I mean, I'd not like a love relationship (and a love triangle to boot) in 12-y-o characters. Not when the world is similar to "modern day", after all. Medieval ages, I can adjust - after all, 13 was all grown up adult back then!
If you didn't like the triangle, though, get ready for future instalments. It's going to be.. interesting ;)
I hope you'll like Hourglass. I've read plenty of good comments about it, even though I haven't read it myself.
Happy New Year!
(and Happy Readings!)

Happy new year for you, too Ron!
ResponderEliminarAnd thanks God I'm not the only with this thoughts about love triangles!
Happy New Year!
ResponderEliminarI have yet to read Hourglass but have heard some really great things about it. I hope you enjoy it!

Really? 12 years old? I don't like it either, though it's sounds like a bit of puppy-love to me... I haven't tried reading a book with a romantic flavor between children at that age... interesting though... It's intriguing. And you're not crazy! I mean, you're not the only one! We all are, I guess... Is that a bad thing? LOL. I think it's better than being lame... hehe..
ResponderEliminarOh Lis, I've missed you! The Christmas and New Year season were truly a very busy busy busy days for me... It's amazing and tiring at the same time and I hardly check my FB and blog... I'm glad to be back. I hope you'll enjoy HOURGLASS. I loved this book and you will too (I hope). You're going to like Michael and Seth (I hope I remember the name correctly haha!) ANyway, good luck with the book! And Have a great year Lis! See you around! XOXOXO!!!
